Monday saw Bridport away to Dorchester’s top stars. Chris Throne’s crew lost by only 3 shots but the other two rinks were beaten heavily.  No points on this occasion for Bridport.  Bridport A were home to Dorchester B and had a far better result with two winning rinks and one losing rink.  The two winning rinks won by a total of ten shots with the losing rink losing by 12, so the overall points to Dorchester.  Well done to Bill Duthie-Jones, Jim Greenfield, John Carter and Steve Bartlett.

No ladies County game this week because of the extreme weather.  However, the friendly against Axminster on Thursday did go ahead, albeit, a shorter game.   A special welcome to four of our new members all playing this afternoon – Trevor Deadman-Spall, Dave Norman, Sean Laffan and Sandy Peters. A good result for Bridport with 3 winning rinks.  Top rink honours to Trevor D-S, Chery Mackenzie and Brian Rumble.

Oh dear, Bridport B were away to Portland Borstal with no winning rinks.  The men’s captain, Steve Bartlett, was unlucky to lose by just one shot, along with Duthie-Jones, Pratt and Carter.  Further mix-up with the A team who should have played Portland Victoria and both teams were at home awaiting their opposition.  Must be the heat!!.

An inter-club competition on Sunday brought the week to a close.  16 industrious souls turned up to play the Ivy Trophy with Trevor, Richard, Jean and Jill the victors.
